Further fuel module development.
Most of this week was taken up with fuel module development. We have now completely removed the old Manage Pumps screen, and redesigned the touch sale screen fuel pad. This felt good, as the code for the old way of using the pump controls was in need of being rewritten anyway.
We are now onto implementing the pump pre-payments. Despite the fact that we have a ‘Virtual Keyboard’ style class, there are several dialogs in Amicus POS that have a number pad permanently on the screen. This was implemented by copying the same piece of code over and over again. Needless to say, that’s a bad idea. As a result, I spent a bit of time centralising the logic between the virtual keyboard, and these number pads. I feel that I spent more time on this than I wanted, but now that it’s done, it will be easier to create these embedded number pads in future. Plus, the logic is centralised, and that’s always a good thing.
This week, we hope to finish the fuel prepayments off. I am not sure if we can achieve that, but we will try. Especially since I feel that we are constantly being distracted from this task, which causes the deadline to slip further. We’ll see how it goes.
